These are just a few sites that catalogue or provide links to obituaries published in various newspapers and on funeral home websites.  The majority of them are limited, typically, to obituaries published in the past decade or so, although a couple do produce some results from the late 1990's.   Worth a look, especially if you're looking for extended family members that you haven't kept in touch with in recent years:
